CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..." Matthew 19:14
We desire and pray for spiritual transformation to occur in the life of a child at church and at home. We are convinced that ministry to children is best accomplished by creatively teaching the Bible and God's Story, and then offering encouragement, practical training and tools based in scripture to parents.
We want every child to grow to love God's Story and know the heart of God's Word as we teach from the Bible each year.
VISION & MISSION
Our Vision Statement is "WSBC Children’s Ministry exists to help kids & families discover Christ and display His transforming power."
Our Mission Statement is "WSBC Children’s Ministry will work to create opportunities and environments for every child to hear the Good News of Jesus, learn from God’s Word in a loving, fun-filled way, and grow to live more mature spiritually. We also believe, because God has given Parents the primary responsibility and privilege to disciple their children, the Church is then called to support and encourage families in their discipleship. Therefore, the purpose of Children’s Ministry is to teach the Bible and proclaim the Gospel in a way that is age and developmentally appropriate for life application while offering opportunities for kids and families to experience relational connection and participate in our core values of Worship, Serve, Believe, and Connect."

COMMITMENT TO FAMILIES
We are committed to families in three ways:
- To encourage and equip parents with tools and resources to help them be the primary source of discipleship in their homes.
- To teach the truth of God’s Word and the Gospel to children through God's Story in the Bible, music, small group discussions, and age-appropriate, creative activities and play.
- To maintain a safe and healthy environment for kids. All volunteers and leaders are carefully screened and a stringent security process is in place for all kids and families. We love telling Bible Stories to your children! And, we believe it’s crucial that we consistently share with them who they are in God’s Big Story. Many times, their understanding of identity, purpose, and value is shaped by the messages they receive from the world, and these influences can often be confusing or contradictory.

PTM: PreTeen Ministry 5th–7th GRADE
Sundays at 10:00am in Room 204
Each Sunday PTM will Connect using as a Bible-centered "Sunday School" for preteens. Kids will see how individual Bible stories connect into larger themes that span the whole Bible.
In the 2-year scope and sequence, preteens start their journey in the Old Testament. This gives them a solid understanding of the history of God’s people, and adds context to who Jesus is and why Jesus is so important. In year 2 (2026-27), preteens will continue with the New Testament, learning all about Jesus’ life, ministry, death, and resurrection.
We are excited to grow more deeply into God's Story!
